WWE Rumors: Jason Jordan Could Replace Roman Reigns
The WWE’s top babyface, Roman Reigns, has been out of action over the last few weeks due to a viral illness, and the company could be forced to roll with a backup plan if he is unable to be cleared for Survivor Series.
Bo Dallas, Bray Wyatt, and Roman Reigns were all forced to miss time due to an unspecified viral infection, and all three of them were absent for the WWE TLC pay per view. Wyatt was replaced by AJ Styles, who faced Finn Balor, and Reigns was replaced in the main event by Raw general manager Kurt Angle, who briefly joined the Shield.
Since then, Dallas and Wyatt have been cleared, and we’ve seen Dallas on Raw with the rest of the Miztourage. Reigns, on the other hand, is still absent. Many expected him to return before Survivor Series, but that was never a guarantee.
PWInsider.com’s Mike Johnson reports that Reigns’s availability for Survivor Series remains unclear, and there is “belief” that he may not be able to return in time for the “Big Four” pay per view. The WWE is also worried about hurrying back to the ring, so they could elect to play it safe and hold him out until after Survivor Series.
Johnson also reports that the WWE’s “Plan B” is currently Jason Jordan, who is expected to replace Reigns on Raw’s Survivor Series team if “The Big Dog” is indeed unavailable for the event. Jordan’s reactions from the crowd have been a mixed back, as he’s been received lukewarmly by the WWE Universe ever since joining the Raw roster as Kurt Angle’s kayfabe son.
Next: The Greatest Moments In Survivor Series History
Jordan is currently locked in a feud with Elias Samson that will likely end with a victory in a “Guitar On A Pole” match on the episode of Raw in Manchester. Whenever Jordan is in the ring, such as when he had matches with John Cena and Reigns, he gets positive reactions due to his skill. But his lack of a character and subpar promos have left him treading water, so he would be a significant downgrade from Reigns as a member of the Survivor Series team as far as garnering interest from fans goes.
