WWE Survivor Series 2017 is all about brand vs. brand warfare, and SmackDown Live has already invaded Raw twice without a response from the “Red Brand”. Will that change this week?
The build-up to WWE Survivor Series 2017 has been focused on SmackDown Live‘s desire to assert itself on Raw, which continues to boast itself as the flagship show. Shane McMahon kicked things off by invading Raw a couple of weeks ago with a large number of the SmackDown Live roster on his side, ambushing Kurt Angle and the Raw locker room.
Raw has yet to mount its response, and it is clear that they will need to do so. Stephanie McMahon recently returned to inform Kurt Angle that his job will be on the line at Survivor Series after Shane’s successful attack on the Raw roster. Last week, SmackDown Live invading again, as The New Day interrupted a match between The Shield and The Bar, costing Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose the tag team titles.
PWInsider.com’s Mike Johnson reports that Raw‘s response to SmackDown Live is expected to transpire this week in Charlotte, North Carolina, just a week before Survivor Series will take place on Nov. 19 in Houston, Texas.
Per Johnson, at the very least, The Shield will show up on Shane McMahon’s show to make a statement. Since Roman Reigns is fully expected to be a part of Survivor Series after missing TLC due to a viral infection, it seems very likely for The Shield and The New Day to have a match at Survivor Series. That bout could be one of the best of the year, since both teams have already put together several legitimate four-star matches over the past few months.
