WWE’s Tye Dillinger is one of wrestling’s typical babyfaces, and he remains popular with the crowd despite the fact that his “Ten” chants aren’t as hot as they were early in the year. We’ve had this conversation before, but could the WWE be interested in turning Dillinger heel?
In early November, the WWE teased a double-turn between Rusev and Tye Dillinger at a SmackDown Live house show in Raleigh, North Carolina. Since then, neither man has changed alignments, but Rusev is arguably the most over wrestler on SmackDown Live. He receives huge pops and “Rusev Day” chants, as his tag team with Aiden English is among the most popular acts in wrestling right now.
Meanwhile, Tye Dillinger is treading water. He is coming fresh off of a loss to Jinder Mahal in the United States Championship tournament, and while there’s no shame in losing to Mahal, Dillinger isn’t really doing anything. The crowd still likes him, but they aren’t as behind him as they used to be.
At a live event in Detroit earlier this week, the WWE decided to tease a Dillinger heel turn again. While live events seem to exist in their own universe, such as when Triple H teamed up with the Shield in the United Kingdom, it’s still interesting that Dillinger hit his opponent, Sin Cara, with a cheap shot after a match.

It could mean nothing, but it’s still interesting to see that Dillinger leveled Sin Cara after initially extending his arm for a handshake. They’ve teased Dillinger going to the dark side before at a house show, so this could be something to watch for.

Meanwhile, Dillinger’s next feud remains unknown. He has feuded with English on SmackDown and was once in a solid program with AJ Styles and Baron Corbin for the United States Championship during Hell in a Cell. Corbin won that match, and Dillinger hasn’t been in a rivalry since then.
