UFC Star Paige VanZant ‘Definitely Interested’ In WWE
By Harry Austen
Former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey is making her way into Sports Entertainment, but could we see another UFC star hit the ring in yet another MMA-WWE crossover?
In the age of UFC megastar Ronda Rousey deciding to change career paths into Sports Entertainment, is it really that much of a surprise that another mainstream female MMA fighter wants to follow suit? With WWE paying big bucks and serving as the “safer” alternative, it really should be no surprise that Paige VanZant would be interested in a move to WWE.
During an interview with TMZ Sports, VanZant mentioned that she’s “definitely interested” in making the jump from combat to Sports Entertainment.
“If the knock comes onto my door, I’m taking it, […] “when the time is right.” The statement sounds like ’12 Gauge’ would be more than happy to bite WWE’s arm off for a contract.
The 23-year-old is an active member of UFC’s roster, however, she is currently out on the shelf following her loss to Jessica-Rose Clark in her debut in a new weight class, which took place under the UFC umbrella, Sunday night at UFC Fight Night 124.

VanZant is an athlete that WWE would usually go for in terms of marketability. The flyweight clearly has fighting experience, and it would certainly be a ‘big win’ for WWE if they decide to send her a lucrative offer down the line.
Ever since Vince McMahon agreed to have Brock Lesnar go back to the UFC for a ‘one time deal’, it seems as if Dana White (UFC majority owner) and the McMahons are in a good working relationship. And given Ronda Rousey’s all but confirmed move to WWE, it seems like the working relationship is stronger than ever – which adds more credence a potential VanZant appearance on WWE TV.
