1. Kassius Ohno
There was a lot of excitement and hype surrounding Kassius Ohno’s return to NXT in 2017, but his run thus far has been very underwhelming. Despite putting on some pretty great matches, Ohno has seen a lot of losses and virtually no push.
Ohno has done a lot of laying on his back in an effort to enhance newcomers. He was apart of the losing team against SAnitY, and he also lost to Lars Sullivan, Johnny Gargano, and will likely lose to the up and coming Velveteen Dream, too.
There seems to be little to no hope for Ohno in NXT. It looks like the time for him to capture the title has already passed him as he now find himself in the Ziggler role of NXT. Basically, that means he loses to the new talent in great matches to make them look strong.
So, with no creative direction left for Kassius Ohno in NXT, WWE better get the 38 year old up to the main roster sooner rather than later. Otherwise, I have a feeling that a return to the independent scene is inevitable for Ohno.
That being said, the Royal Rumble will be the perfect opening for Ohno to make the jump up to the main roster. He is a big man that can move well and perform in the ring, and he s just as good as a heel as is as a face. So, no matter which brand he ends up on, I’m sure there will be a spot for him.
