WWE Raw: Predicting Finn Bálor’s Plans For Elimination Chamber

What’s next for Finn Bálor after his loss to John Cena in the main event of WWE Raw?

Is Finn Bálor over? Yep. Was that enough to get him a win over John Cena and a spot in the Elimination Chamber match? Nope.

Despite Bálor’s renewed momentum from forming the Bálor Club with Good Brothers Anderson and Gallows and impressive and long run in the Royal Rumble, his supposed main event push was cut short once again.

The back half of 2017 was filled with internet fans vying for Bálor to get a chance at Brock Lesnar’s Universal Championship since Finn never lost that title (he vacated it due to injury).

Many thought he would face Brock at the Royal Rumble. It didn’t happen. Many thought he would win the Royal Rumble match. It didn’t happen. Now, many people thought he would at least get another chance in the Elimination Chamber match to determine Brock’s WrestleMania opponent. Guess what? That didn’t happen either.

Before people go crazy claiming that this is because WWE has given up on Finn or that he is getting buried, let’s try to take a more realistic and even optimistic view at this: Vince is keeping Finn away from Brock because he doesn’t want to tarnish The Demon’s aura. Finn isn’t in the Elimination Chamber match because Roman is (probably) going to win, so he can be protected there. AND it took an STF and multiple AA’s for John Cena to defeat him on Raw.

So, Finn is in good shape right now and could even position himself for a Universal Championship match later on in 2018. But as for right now, there is another title that should be in Finn’s sights. That would be Miz’s prestigious Intercontinental Championship.

With the majority of Raw‘s top Superstars in the Elimination Chamber match, including the women, the PPV will need some quality Superstars and matches to fill out the rest of the card. I assume the tag titles will be on the line, and we will likely see the next chapter in the Bray Wyatt and Matt Hardy saga.

But, we need a marquee match, which could consist of The Miz and Finn Bálor. They seem like a perfect fit for a feud since The Miz is one of the most hated heels while Finn is one of the most over babyfaces, and The Miz has his Miztourage while Finn has his Bálor Club.

So, there are two routes WWE could take here. Finn could face The Miz for the Intercontinental Championship at Elimination Chamber. Then, they can either go their separate ways or have the rematch at WrestleMania.

OR, The Bálor Club could take on The Miztourage in a six man tag match at Elimination Chamber, which would build to Finn and The Miz’s match for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 34.

Either way, I’m predicting that Finn Bálor’s plans for Elimination Chamber will be awesome, and the results could be too sweet.
