WWE: Who Should Win the North American Championship?

Like the TakeOvers before, WWE NXT Takeover: New Orleans has the potential to be the best wrestling event during the WrestleMania weekend.

The show features memorable matches like the showdown between Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano, as well as a match for the WWE NXT Championship between Andrade “Cien” Almas and Aleister Black.

But the match that has the potential to steal the show is the ladder match for NXT’s newest title, the North American Championship.

The match is a features six of NXT’s best superstars going right now. In it includes NXT’s two newest signees, EC3 and Ricochet, the leader of the Undisputed Era Adam Cole, the charismatic Velveteen Dream, the Beast of Belfast Killian Dain, and Lars Sullivan.

But the question now is who ought to climb the ladder and become the inaugural champion? The best person to do so is ADAM COLE BAY-BAY.

So why should Cole deserve to be the first North American champion? Simply put, with the quality of matches he’s had in his time being in NXT, he most definitely deserves to hold a title before moving up to the main roster.

After debuting at Takeover: Brooklyn III, he went on to be one of the main stars during Takeover: War Games. After that, he went on to have an incredible Extreme Rules match with Aleister Black at Takeover: Philadelphia. So naturally, a title run seems the next option. And since the NXT Championship is currently occupied, what better than to go for a vacant title?

With Cole winning, it allows for the Undisputed Era to have a firm grasp over NXT. Currently, the other Undisputed Era members Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish are the reigning NXT Tag Team Champions. However with Fish out with injury, Cole is stepping in to help his teammate defend his title at Takeover against Pete Dunne, Roderick Strong and the Authors of Pain. So Cole will be pulling double duty that night.

But even so, if Cole were to win both titles that night, he and O’Reilly would basically run NXT. It even allows for Cole to eventually possibly become NXT Champion. But that would be down the road. For the foreseeable future, or rather the summer, The Undispuded Era would be the top guys in NXT.

And Cole can eventually drop the title to someone like EC3 or Ricochet down the road. But for the time being, to let him have the biggest impact possible in NXT, Adam Cole ought to be the inaugural NXT North American Champion.
