Alexa Bliss Needs to be the Face of WWE’s Anti-Bullying Campaign
With the ongoing storyline between Nia Jax and Alexa Bliss, we need to see Alexa become the face of WWE’s anti-bullying campaign.
Although the WWE is heavily pushing their “Women’s Evolution” and the progress of women’s wrestling, we have seen a few things that make us scratch our heads. One of those things is the ongoing feud between friends-turned-enemies, Nia Jax and Alexa Bliss.
Their feud has almost entirely been based off from Nia Jax’s weight. Even in some of Alexa’s promos, she makes a point to include food into it. Sure, she hasn’t come straight out and called the current RAW Women’s Champion “fat,” but it’s still just as mean. But for two of the top women on the RAW brand, is this really the best we can do?
Apparently so. This is an interesting angle for the WWE to go for. After all, this is something that came straight out of the early to mid-2000s “Diva” era. Does anyone remember the “Piggy James” storyline from back in the day? It just makes the company look like they are taking ten steps backward.
Interestingly enough, the WWE is a large partner with the National Education Association in an anti-bullying campaign. The campaign, Be A STAR, was especially well-known during WrestleMania 28. Though it still exists, there haven’t been many reports on the campaign in quite a while.
Perhaps it’s time to re-boot it a little bit with this Alexa Bliss/Nia Jax feud. As much as I dislike the angle they creative team went with, this is still a very relatable issue. Women and girls deal with this struggle every day, and bullying has even seeped into our online interactions. For some girls, they are unable to escape humiliation from their bullies.
This is where WWE needs to step in.
Sometimes, I think they forget that girls look up to Alexa Bliss and may mimic what she says. That’s why they should make a point to flip the tables on her. Perhaps she is hoping for a helping hand from Mickie James during her match at Backlash, only to have her friend turn her back?
In any event, it is absolutely crucial for the company to drive the idea that a bully won’t win home. Bliss needs to be the newest face of the anti-bullying campaign. Having her kayfabe realize her wrongdoings is really going to prove to the younger audience that the type of behavior she has shown is not acceptable.

As much as we love seeing Bliss as a full-fledged heel, having her lose the championship and all of her friends would be a great way to slowly turn her into a face. After all, if the WWE is so adamant about using such a watered-down storyline for this feud, they might as well play it up the best they can.
Plus, it gets plenty of publicity, should they opt to do it this way.
