Harmony: This was the one true swerve of the night for me.  I didn’t see that coming! I’m really shocked! Not that Kay Lee isn’t great, but Meiko Satomura is basically a human godhead of wrestling. And yet, I was not disappointed at all by this match. This was probably the most “serious” technical match of the night and they couldn’t have had better competitors than Meiko and Kay Lee.

Every now and then I like to watch a wrestling match where mutual respect is the storyline. Just two people who know they’re the top of the game putting on a clinic. That what we got with this match, and it was satisfying as hell. The way the match slowly built up intensity and they got more and more desperate to put each other away was perfectly paced and the way it escalated was excellent. Every time Kay Lee kicked out of a Death Valley Driver my heart was in my throat. I had no idea who was going to win until the end, and Kay Lee absolutely earned her victory. And the way Meiko waved off Kay Lee’s handshake for a proper bow- damn. What an ending. Satomura is already a legend, but if this match is any indication, Kay Lee is on her way.

Joe: So this was legitimately a “Match of the Year” candidate across any promotion. Meiko Satomura and Kay Lee Ray put together a match that had just about everything a professional wrestling diehard could ask for. The technical exchanges were among the most proficient I’ve seen in any promotion this year, and the action was absolutely hard-hitting. Satomura’s kicks are just nuts.

The near-falls took the breath out of me every step of the way, especially because both wrestlers built up the drama while Satomura had her set up for the Death Valley Driver. Of course, the finish itself was fantastic, as it wrapped up the story the match started to tell in the final five minutes.

Please watch this match if you can. It really sealed the fact that Kay Lee Ray is one of the biggest stars in all of pro wrestling. Not only has she been booked incredibly strong, but she delivers insane performances every time she’s booked for a show.
