Our reactions:

Harmony: YES AJA KONG. I was a litte sad they went with her Judas Priest theme, but oh well. The commentary mentioned that Aja is a lifelong hero of Viper’s, and it is always sweet to see someone wrestle somebody they grew up admiring. (Also strange to realize that Aja Kong has literally been wrestling people for longer than I have been alive). This was not a quick paced match but it was a fun one, and told a good story of Aja eventually developing some respect for Viper after blowing her off. The trades of bodyblows were great, and I loved that they took the action out of the ring for a brief but satisfying sequence. I continue to be impressed by Viper’s moves and control in the ring, and I think she came out of this looking great, even if she wasn’t the winner.

I know it’s weird, but I’m glad Aja cheated the entire time (seriously, why would you let her bring a barrel into the ring!?) and I love that she went out like a villain. She just wouldn’t have been Aja if she took it easy on Viper, and now they have the perfect excuse for a rematch. Viper and Aja have both promised they’ll meet again in Europe or Japan, and I am looking forward to it.

Joe: Viper continues to impress me, and I’m still a little disappointed that she wasn’t able to win this match. But ultimately, Aja Kong’s veteran know-how proved to be too much for Viper’s resiliency and athleticism to overcome. “Forever a villain” certainly rings true for Aja after watching this match. The crowd’s reactions throughout this match (and in the post-match) tell you all you need to know about how entertaining this was. They were hooked throughout, showing the utmost respect for both wrestlers.
