After Charlotte Flair ruptured an implant before WrestleMania earlier this year, it was announced that she will return in time for SummerSlam.

Per Jeremy Thomas of 411Mania, the Wrestling Observer News’s Dave Meltzer reported that Charlotte Flair from SmackDown Live is expected to return in time for a story build towards SummerSlam.

Flair ruptured a breast implant before WrestleMania earlier this year, and is set to miss a build for the upcoming Extreme Rules pay-per-view, shared with both flagship shows Raw and SmackDown.

WON first reported that Flair underwent surgery to fix her implant on June 19. Flair will reportedly return for action in approximately one month.

Joseph Lee of 411Mania relayed WON’s report that Flair had been pulled from WWE’s tour in Japan for surgery, and will miss future tour dates of June 29 and June 30 at the Sumo Hall.

Though Flair was seen competing shortly after rupture, WWE medical staff pulled Flair for surgery after physical activity was seen as possibly complicating.

Flair has held the WWE Diva’s Championship once, WWE Raw Women’s Championship four times, and WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship once since her introduction to the main stage in 2015.

Flair was considered to be detrimental to the success and progression of WWE’s Women Division after coming up the ranks through WWE’s developmental division, NXT. Dubbed one of the “Four Horsewoman” of WWE and NXT, Flair separated herself from her father, Ric Flair, and created a name and legacy of her own.

The current WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion is Carmella, who obtained the title after cashing in her Money in the Bank contract on the Apr. 10 episode of SmackDown, defeating Flair after Flair was attacked from Billie Kay and Peyton Royce. Carmella successfully defended her title against Flair at Backlash, and later against Asuka during a title match at Money in the Bank, thanks to a distraction by thought-to-be-long-gone James Ellsworth.
