Ten Wrestlers We’d Like to See in Mae Young Classic 2018
By Harmony Cox
JORDYNNE GRACE
Jordynne Grace, AKA Thick Mama Pump, is one of the best all-round wrestlers working today. She’s a great striker, an accomplished powerhouse wrestler, and she’s bringing the bear hug back as a finisher. (She’s also super-funny on Twitter, whatever that’s worth.)
Beyond that, she’s an awesome storyteller in the ring, and that’s an important skill for engaging casual viewers for a limited event like the Mae Young Classic. I encourage you to check out her last EVE encounter with Livvi Grace for an example of how quickly and how well she can sell a story in a match. Grace would bring an excellent mix of rock-solid skill and charisma to Mae Young Classic 2018.
CHARLIE MORGAN
I know I said this list would not include anybody under contract with WWE, but I am bending my own rules a little bit because this might be my favorite wrestler working today.
“Fearless” Charlie Morgan is my favorite kind of face: the underdog that doesn’t quit. she will dive off ladders, run up walls, take any kind of punishment an opponent can dish out and keep on trucking. She’s just coming off an incredible run at EVE, where she overcame every obstacle thrown in her way and won the championship at WrestleQueendom (which you should definitely check out if you like women’s wrestling).
Morgan is tough and brave and willing to do absolutely whatever it takes to win a match, and WWE’s extended tryout deal for her means they see her potential. Though she’s already taped her WWE UK debut, giving her a role in the Mae Young Classic would be a great way to test her out with a larger audience and introduce the whole WWE universe to the Ace of EVE.
