Sü Yüng: Learning More About The Ündead Bride of Impact Wrestling

Sü Yüng’s character is one of the most interesting characters in professional wrestling. Currently, Sü is signed to Impact Wrestling where she is causing chaos amongst the Knockout Division. Teamed with her Undead Bridesmaids, she has the whole division on alert as one of the top stars, but where did this mysterious wrestler come from? What is the origin of Sü Yüng?

In an interview with Royal Ramblings for Huffington Post, Sü said after leaving FCW, someone who she only referred to as “The Brain” suggested she’d become the undead bride. Sü really ran with the character and transformed it into something frightening, creepy and downright badass.

Sü comes to the ring in a short, white lace dress, covered in what looks like blood. Her face is painted white with red smeared around and in her mouth symbolising a sort of zombiism, her hair is wild with what looks like white powder in it. Sü Yüng really is a sight to behold.

Performing in SHINE Wrestling (Japan), Sü had many amazing matches including one with Saraya Knight (a qualifying match for the SHINE Championship) in which they brutally battled each other hitting hard jabs and metaphorically ripping each other to shreds.

It was in Impact where Sü Yüng really became more into her creepy self. From terrorising the Knockouts, to beating Allie for the Knockouts Championship, Sü has wordlessly taken control of the Knockouts division. The creepiest thing she has done so far is appear to bury The Demon Assassin Rosemary after she defeated her and placed her in a coffin. Sü’s Ündead Bridesmaids made Rosemary’s good friend Allie watch as a sort of punishment for trying to help her.

The communication with the Ündead Bridesmaids is something eerie in itself, not once does she speak but instead instructs them on what to do with a look or a gesture with a hand. Recently, Sü decided to go after Madison Rayne, and it was amazing to see her instruct the Bridesmaids without a single command given. Madison has decided to, perhaps foolishly, challenge Sü for the Knockouts Championship at Slammiversary, Sü has upped the mind games and even interrupted a backstage interview that was like a scene from a horror movie that was cheesy and glorious.

Recently, Sü went up against Saraya again in Rise of the Knockouts for the Knockouts Championship in a Falls Count Anywhere. The match was brutal as Saraya hung Sü from the platform with a rope, Sü managed to retain, but Saraya really took it out of her.

Sü Yüng is definitely a truly fascinating character, who’s only just started paving her creepy path in Impact, she is going to become a huge name in Impact and an even bigger name in independent wrestling.
