Matt Riddle Out Of PWG BOLA 2018, Is He WWE NXT Bound?

Matt Riddle is one of the most talented and athletic professional wrestlers on the planet, and he’s picked up the business as quickly as anybody. So if he were to sign with WWE NXT this year, he’d be a massive addition to an already-stacked roster.

Lately, there have been rumblings that Matt Riddle could be on the cusp of signing with WWE NXT, as the brand has already added the likes of Keith Lee and Io Shirai in recent months. The company even added Ricochet, Candice LeRae, the War Raiders, and EC3 earlier this year, with all of those men and women starring on NXT right now.

Riddle would be as big of an addition as any of them, and we know how much WWE loves to have new members of the roster in the crowd at NXT TakeOver specials. There isn’t a bigger special than NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn, as we saw last year when Adam Cole made his sensational debut to make a statement with former ROH stars Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly (who now form the Undisputed Era along with Roderick Strong).

Perhaps Riddle could make a similar splash in 2018, as PWG announced today that Riddle was removed from the Battle for Los Angeles 2018. He will be replaced by the underrated Trevor Lee, who is a three-time Impact X Division Champion and a standout for the resurgent promotion.

PWG’s announcement that Riddle will no longer be at BOLA has increased the speculation that he will be a part of NXT soon. I’m sure Riddle is high on Triple H’s wishlist, especially after he was arguably THE standout of WrestleMania week, producing high quality matches for a variety of promotions.

Riddle’s background in MMA and amateur wrestling is renowned, and “The King of Bros” has the aura of a future superstar. This man has a world of potential, and he’s one of the most tireless workers in the business today. I’m sure he’d be perfect in WWE, and it will be interesting to see if his absence from BOLA this year is an indication that he’ll join the “Black and Yellow” brand of WWE.
