On October 28, WWE will air its first ever all-women’s PPV from the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Long Island, New York, and Trish Stratus and Lita are two legends confirmed for this special event.

WWE notified fans on Friday that there would be a special announcement on Monday Night Raw involving the women’s division. To start Raw, Stephanie McMahon, Vince McMahon, and Triple H came out to address the WWE Universe, with Stephanie announcing the first ever all-women’s PPV.

It was Pro Wrestling Sheet’s Ryan Satin who first reported that an all-women’s event was potentially in the works. The show is now official, as the WWE Network-exclusive event will take place on Oct. 28 in Long Island, New York with a start time at 7 p.m ET.

Not only will the show feature SmackDown, Raw, and NXT title matches, but Triple H told ESPN.com that Trish Stratus and Lita are among the names who will appear at this historic show. On Raw, Stephanie stated that 50 women in total will compete at “Evolution”, which is the name of this all-women’s Pay Per View, with some of these wrestlers coming from WWE’s past. Stratus and Lita fit the bill.

I’m sure other wrestlers, such as Mixed Match Challenge commentator and WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix, will appear at this event. We saw at the first Women’s Royal Rumble this year that many of the legends of the past can still “go” in the ring, and I’m definitely excited to potentially see Trish and Lita in dream matches. Lita vs. Becky Lynch and Trish vs. Sasha Banks are two matches that fans have told me they’d like to see.

Again, I am SO pumped up for this Pay Per View special on Oct. 28, and there’s no mystery surrounding the potential for “Evolution” to be one of the most electric shows this year. Hall of Famers, main roster stars, NXT women, and even NXT UK women (shoutout to Toni Storm!) will appear, so we’re headed for something special.
