Since arriving to WWE, The Revival has had trouble staying healthy. As a result, they have never been able to gain consistent momentum. Now, they have an opportunity to add life to a dying Raw tag team division.
Remember Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson, The Revival? You know, one of the most entertaining throwback tag teams in NXT history. The same Dash and Dawson that were the first ever two-time NXT Tag Team Champions. I only ask because it seems like WWE forgets about spotlighting them for the most part.
To be fair, injuries have been an issue for The Revival. Not too long after debuting against The New Day, Wilder fractured his jaw at a live event. That sidelined the superstar for eight weeks. Next, it appeared the unit was gaining a little bit of traction against the Club and Hardy Boyz. Unfortunately, Dawson ruptured his bicep and had to be out for five months. So if the WWE has some questions about the health of the duo, it is valid.
However, it is important to point out that the two have been back on the active roster for a while. They just haven’t been booked in a manner that aids their style of tag team wrestling. It worked well in NXT, where there’s more of an emphasis on in-ring work. But on the main roster, commentary doesn’t focus enough on how good Dash and Dawson’s chemistry is.
More importantly, Raw lacks credible tag teams right now. The B-Team is a comedy team that will not be taken seriously for long, if at all. It can be argued that they won the championships strictly for shock value. The Deleters Of Worlds are slowly but surely losing their luster. And the fans still need to get more familiar with The Authors Of Pain. This makes The Revival best suited to restore prestige into the tag titles.

In order to give the tag team division a hard reset, The Revival needs to win the Raw Tag Team Championships at SummerSlam. The duo is a legitimate team. It shows with their chemistry in the ring with one another. In an era where heels struggle to get heat, these two are real bad guys. They are easy to dislike. Putting the titles on The Revival instantly gives fans tag team champions that matter.
Let us not forget that the team has a recent victory over Bobby Lashley and Roman Reigns. On the July 30th edition of Monday Night Raw, they defeated the former tag team champions Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt. Perhaps finally the Top Guys are poised to run the division. It is up to creative to get aggressive and follow-up on this momentum.
NXT is not the same as Raw or SmackDown. There are so many factors that play into each brand. Additionally, they cater to different portions of the fanbase. Still, NXT performances should count for something. In NXT, The Revival had tag team wrestling looking like the work of art that it is. All they need on the main roster is an opportunity to show why they are Top Guys.
