Finn Balor was caught in the crossfire this week on WWE Raw. What will he do next to ensure he doesn’t suffer the same fate week after week?
Finn Balor was booked in a match against Braun Strowman this week in the main event of WWE Raw. The man who the WWE Universe adores was faced with a monstrous task as Strowman had just recently turned heel, against all logic and reason. However, the resultant match was a story that has been told time and again.
Balor has heart and courage but just can’t get the job done against a monster like Braun Strowman or even Kane if you remember that chapter. Regardless, as the match came to an end, Strowman would cement his heel stature by joining forces with Ziggler and McIntyre once more to assault the beloved babyface. A brutal post-match assault was on the horizon when the Shield made their entrance and saved the day for Finn Balor. But not so much for the Hounds of Justice themselves, which is a story for another post.
Pretty much every heel on the Raw roster, including Drew Gulak and Buddy Murphy from 205 Live ganged up on the Hounds to deliver a brutal beat down. We pretty much know what’s gonna happen at Hell in a Cell now. Rollins and Ambrose might be the ones to challenge Ziggler and McIntyre in probably another signature match. Speaking of which, how many Hell in a Cell matches are we in store for? How many is too many?
Anyhow, let’s take a moment to analyse what lies ahead for Balor. The first ever Universal Champion was defeated and then victimized by someone whom he was used to tagging along with. Remember the good old days when Strowman and Balor used to team up? The man might have felt betrayed by the Monster Among Men’s actions. To beat up Roman Reigns is one thing. But to try to brutally triple power-bomb Balor through the steel steps? Too much Braun.

So what will Balor do to ensure he doesn’t suffer the same fate again? He has ample reasons to align himself with the Shield in this little fraction war. After all, Roman Reigns is the only Universal champion so far to give Balor the rematch he deserved.
However, creative has shown that things have escalated beyond just two factions or a bunch of superstars now. Every heel was out there to pummel the Hounds of Justice. Will we see every babyface in the locker room now come out to offer support for the Shield? That would simply be beyond lame.
Instead, what if a group of anti-heroes emerged, to combat the injustice they suffered this week? If it wasn’t for Dolph and Drew, the Revival would have most likely come away with the tag team gold this week. But they too suffered a brutal attack earlier in the night. What if Balor decides to even the odds by getting the Revival to work alongside him?
The Balor Club angle with Gallows and Anderson never amounted to anything. But this could be an angle with some more potential. Moreover, it would help Dash and Dawson to regain some of the star power and momentum they have lost over the years. Above all, for some reason, this just seems right. A seemingly random pairing; but one that makes sense given the circumstances that have unfolded as of now. What are your thoughts?
