WWE Raw: Nia Jax Returns To Team Up With Ember Moon
Nia Jax made her return to WWE Raw this week, as she teamed up with Ember Moon to take on the heel duo of Mickie James and Alicia Fox.
After losing her rematch for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship at Hell in a Cell 2018, Alexa Bliss has apparently decided to focus on helping her friends in tag team competition. Alicia Fox and Mickie James have been on Bliss’s side for months, as they tried to help her survive against Ronda Rousey at both SummerSlam and Hell in a Cell.
Tonight on Raw, Fox and James were slated to take on Ember Moon and a tag team partner of Moon’s choosing. Bliss, Fox, and James bullied Moon, stating that nobody would want to be friends with her, which heel announcer Corey Graves tried to support by citing “texts” from other women in the locker room.
However, Moon did find a partner against Fox and James, and let’s just say she couldn’t have found a better person to team up with than the dominant Nia Jax.
It was amazing to see Jax back on television, as we haven’t seen her compete in a match since her loss to Bliss at Extreme Rules in a Raw Women’s Championship match. It was Jax’s third title match against Bliss, as the two had a bullying storyline that saw Jax defeat Bliss for the title twice at WrestleMania 34 and Backlash.
Bliss also cashed in on Nia at the Money in the Bank Pay Per View, as she won the briefcase earlier in the night and ended what was an amazing match between Rousey and Jax.
Although unconfirmed, there were rumors that Nia was dealing with an injury, which explains why we hadn’t seen her for months until she appeared on Raw tonight to team up with Moon. She was also reportedly backstage at Hell in a Cell.
Nia and Ember predictably picked up the victory, with Nia grabbing the deciding pinfall in her first night back. Going off of how well she performed against Rousey at Money in the Bank, Nia is a woman on the rise on Raw, and hopefully we can keep consistently seeing her on television.
WWE appears to be pairing up more women together for a future Women’s Tag Team Championships. Sasha Banks and Bayley, the Riott Squad, the IIconics, Naomi and Asuka, Fox and James, and now Moon and Jax are among the possible teams.
