Becky Lynch Takes Shot At Charlotte Flair: ‘I didn’t just win this title, I saved this title’

At WWE Evolution 2018, Becky Lynch will defend the SmackDown Women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair in a “Last Woman Standing” match that is the most highly-anticipated bout on the card. On the eve of the match, Becky sent another pointed shot at “The Queen”.

Charlotte Flair made her main roster debut in 2015 alongside Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch, and she’s already become one of the most successful wrestlers in WWE history in terms of accolades.

She is a one-time NXT Women’s Champion, a former Divas Champion, a four-time Raw Women’s Champion, and a two-time SmackDown Women’s Champion.

Lynch ended Charlotte’s second reign as SmackDown Women’s Champion at Hell in a Cell, defeating her best friend once again. Though Charlotte has held a women’s title on the main roster a whopping seven times in her WWE career (tying Trish Stratus for the all-time record), Becky isn’t impressed with the quality of “The Queen’s” reigns.

Since this heated rivalry began at SummerSlam with Becky’s post-match betrayal, Lynch has done everything possible to get under Charlotte’s skin. Her remark that she “didn’t just win” the SmackDown Women’s title but actually “saved” it from Charlotte not elevating it is yet another example of Becky getting the verbal upper hand in this battle.

Tomorrow at Evolution, Charlotte is seen as the favorite due to her seven women’s championship reigns, but almost everyone in the WWE Universe is rooting for Becky. She is probably the most beloved superstar in WWE, and it’s because of strong statements like this. Becky has indeed made the SmackDown Women’s Championship feel like WWE’s most important title.

Also, that photo is awesome. Becky is the WWE’s “Fearless Girl”, even as she proclaims herself to be “The Man” as both a way of shading Ric Flair and of putting all the other champions in WWE (men and women) on notice.

Evolution should turn out to be an exemplary Pay Per View as the first of its kind in WWE, and this wonderful rivalry between Charlotte and Becky is a huge reason why fans are excited for this PPV, in spite of the lack of attention given towards it by WWE. Becky and Charlotte have put in so much work to make this match feel special, and it’s personal shots on social media like this that play a huge part in that.
