WWE: Why Trish Stratus vs Alexa Bliss Must Happen At Wrestlemania 35

Going into WWE Evolution, one of the most anticipated matches on the card was Trish Stratus versus Alexa Bliss. By the time of the show, it was a tag team match and Alexa Bliss was out and Alicia Fox was in. But that can’t just be the end of it.

After the groundbreaking Evolution pay-per-view was announced, the first match confirmed was a dream match between Trish Stratus and Alexa Bliss. Up to a few weeks before the show, that was the match that everybody was expecting. The weekly Raw episodes were used to build up the match. Then in the last month, the match was then turned into a tag team match between Lita and Trish Stratus facing Mickie James and Alexa Bliss.

While the match did come as a let-down to some, most people were still excited to see this match. Things all changed whenever a terribly timed injury forced Alexa Bliss off the Evolution card. She went on to be replaced in the match by Alicia Fox. Alexa Bliss was unfortunately forced to watch another women’s first at ringside.

With Evolution now behind us, the women put on a tremendous show that had the whole world talking. Trish Stratus and Lita were able to come up victorious against James and Fox. The two had their feel-good moment and the show continued. The match was a fun one to view but it just kind of left a sour taste in your mouth knowing what could have been.

The build-up between Trish Stratus and Alexa Bliss seemed to be all for nothing. Another dream match that we were so close to seeing and didn’t get too. Although, the WWE still have the opportunity to capitalize on this match while they still have the opportunity. With Wrestlemania 35 growing closer by the week, this is the match that I am wanting to see booked right now.

With Alexa Bliss out of the title picture at the moment, this is the next feud that I believe she needs. The angle the WWE was going with this story was in the right direction in my opinion. Alexa’s recalling her meeting with Trish was entertaining calling Trish a bully. She also has claimed that she was the woman who replaced Trish. They have already created a story, now they just need to dig deeper into it.

Alexa Bliss has been able to climb up the ladder in the WWE and prove her worth. Just like Trish did in her day whenever she was looked at as just a model. Both Trish and Alexa both started by managing a tag team. They both were doubted and had to fight hard to show their worth. Both women were able to succeed and they proved everyone wrong.

When you start to look at the comparison,  he two have had similar careers. It is hard to argue with Alexa’s statement. With that said, Trish Stratus is the one woman who Alexa Bliss needs to beat to solidify her place among the roster. Charlotte Flair is most compared to Trish by tying her for most women championship reigns. But that is only by statistics. When it comes to character, Alexa Bliss has replaced Trish Stratus.

Bliss should be able to always be able to say that she beat the woman herself at the grandest stage of them all. She should be able to have her “crown passing” moment with Trish. Whenever Alexa Bliss is officially cleared, I would love to see her lay down the challenge to Stratus for Wrestlemania 35. Trish has shown over 2018 that she still has it in the ring. I believe that both women would love to do this match as well.

With all of the legendary returns at Wrestlemania, we haven’t seen a true Rock versus Hogan moment with the woman yet. This is the match that the WWE needs to capitalize on. I am holding out my money now along with plenty of others I am sure. These opportunities don’t always last in wrestling. Don’t let this one slip through your fingers. Let’s see it happen, Trish Stratus versus Alexa Bliss at Wrestlemania 35.
