AEW Announced A Working Agreement with AAA

All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has announced via their Twitter account that they now have a working relationship with AAA Lucha Libre Worldwide.

Upon the recent announcement that Pentagon Jr. and Fenix have signed with AEW, there was some speculation about what their contract status would be with AAA, their home promotion in Mexico.

The video, announced one hour before AEW’s MGM Ticket Announcement Party, marked the first major announcement of the day for AEW, with many more to come, it seems.

AAA’s Dorian Roldan announced that they were excited for the project created by Tony Khan, Cody Rhodes, and the Young Bucks. He wanted to join them in changing the wrestling world with an exchange of talent that would see AEW wrestlers appearing in AAA and AAA wrestlers appearing in AEW.

While the details of which talent will be shared (outside of Pentagon Jr. and Fenix) is unknown at this time, this definitely marks a major partnership agreement that will benefit AEW tremendously. While ROH and NJPW have working agreements with CMLL, it seems a natural fit for AEW to have one with AAA, as both promotions stand out as the top two in Mexico.

AEW has been acquiring quite the roster over the last month or so, with the announcements of Chris Jericho, So Cal Uncensored, and most of the Being the Elite crew. However, they also announced Jungle Boy, Jimmy Havoc, Britt Baker, Joey Janela, Penelope Ford, and the Lucha Brothers as mentioned above.

Simply said, AEW’s roster is becoming a collection of the top independent workers in the world, and who knows what else we can expect to hear today at the ticket announcement party? Time will tell, but you can be sure that we will have all the updates here, as AEW moves towards Double or Nothing on May 25th, 2019.
