Holidead vs. Azteca

Kristen: When I heard that Holidead was debuting in tonight’s episode for WOW, I was extremely excited. I enjoy Holidead’s work at Ring of Honor, with her strange gimmick and intense in-ring presence. Her brutality and athleticism is something that produces awe, personally, and I knew she could bring something unique to WOW’s table.

Azteca is also a force to be reckoned with, though I haven’t gotten to watch her as much as I would like. She’s clearly a staple in the company, as she’s been on-air leading plenty of other wrestlers in the ring. The two had immediate chemistry in the ring, and Holidead was able to play her creepy part so well.

After the match, Siren The Voodoo Doll made an appearance and sized Holidead up. It seems Holidead pairs with a lot of oddball characters in wrestling, and it always produces entertaining qualities. I’m excited to see what she does with this pairing.

Joe: Azteca is another one of my favorites (it’s amazing how many great babyfaces WOW has!), and I couldn’t get past how much the crowd loved her. She pulled off some tremendous moves in this match, including her Aztec Destroyer for the finish. I mean, Holidead was solid, brutal, and seemed like the favorite, but it was great to see Azteca get a bounce-back win, especially after her highly disappointing loss last week.

Holidead’s WOW debut went really well, and I’m really intrigued to see how she and Siren The Voodoo Doll work together with their eery gimmicks. But Azteca was the biggest story here, taking one step towards making a name for herself with her selling and athleticism. Honestly, is there a better seller in WOW than her?
