With rumors circulating that Batista could be making his in-ring return for AEW instead of WWE, we got curious and started brainstorming which matches we would love to see Batista compete in for the other side of wrasslin pond. Here is what we came up with.

It seems that ever since he made his defiant exit from WWE during his last run in 2014, Batista has been anxious to get back in it. The Hollywood superstar has been scratching, clawing, biting and has even done a bit of teasing to make his way back to WWE, just like a regular ole Animal. In the midst of it all, it seems to be done to no avail. Either Batista has been busy, him and WWE struggle to strike a deal, or WWE just simply have no interest in bringing the Marvel mega-star back to WWE soil.

As with everything in life, there is always an alternative. If Batista truly wants to have one last big hurrah in the ring, there is no bigger American stage for him – apart from WWE, of course – than that of AEW, which is currently being hyped as the biggest American wrestling alternative to WWE since WCW closed its doors.

All Elite Wrestling executives Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, Cody and Brandi Rhodes are truly crafting a juggernaut of a company on themselves. Some of the biggest names in the wrestling business today have already signed onboard the company’s roster and a report from Pro Wrestling Sheet’s Ryan Satin suggests that Batista could be of interest. Rumors are suggesting that the actor behind Drax the Destroyer met with Chris Jericho to discuss possibly obtaining an AEW contract.

Of course, as are most things in the wrestling business that have yet to come to fruition, this could merely be nothing more than rumor and innuendo, but for the sake of practicality at least, we think that it would be fun to dream up some dream opponents for The Animal in case he ever did cross over to the other side.
