Bea Priestley has been one of the top free agents in professional wrestling, and AEW made the decision to sign a star who reportedly had interest from WWE.

In Nyla Rose, Britt Baker, Penelope Ford, and Kylie Rae, Brandi Rhodes has assembled an impressive group of talent for AEW‘s Women’s Division.

The new wrestling promotion’s first show will take place on May 25 in Las Vegas, and Double or Nothing will also include TJPW’s Yuka Sakazaki and Aja Kong.

AEW has added another big name to its roster, as Brandi welcomed Bea Priestley to the promotion in the most recent episode of “The Road to Double or Nothing”.

Priestley is scheduled to appear at AEW’s “Fight for the Fallen” show in Jacksonville, Florida this summer, and this is the show where a portion of the ticket sales will go to help victims of gun violence. Recall that last year, a shooting occurred at a Madden Tournament in Jacksonville.

Double or Nothing will have a marquee women’s Triple Threat match between Rose, Baker, and Rae, and Sakazaki and Kong will also have match on the show. Perhaps more will follow, but it’s great to hear that Priestley has signed to AEW and will be a part of the promotion’s encore performance to its debut in Vegas.

WWE reportedly had interest in signing Priestley to its NXT UK brand, which boasts Toni Storm, Rhea Ripley, Jinny, Jazzy Gabert, and Kay Lee Ray on its talent roster among others. But Priestley has chosen AEW, and being a part of Brandi Rhodes’s division could be a much better fit for the Queen’s Quest member.

Priestley’s work in the United Kingdom and in Japan for STARDOM speaks for itself, and her strong work will reach a wider audience in AEW. A match between Priestley and Rose could be fantastic, for example, and it will be fun to come up with a list of dream matches once more of the AEW Women’s Division starts coming into place.

This is another signing for AEW fans to get excited about, and I’m sure Brandi and Co. will have more announcements dialed up on the “Road to Double or Nothing” this spring.
