The long-awaited main roster push for Lacey Evans looks to finally be here. Now, it’s up to her and WWE to make the most of it.

Hell has frozen over, pigs are flying, and Led Zeppelin has probably even reunited all because Lacey Evans finally did something on the main roster.

After weeks upon weeks of waiting while she walked up and down the ramp back and forth, we finally got to see what I would consider the official debut of Lacey Evans on Monday Night Raw.

Evans music hit, per usual, and she proceeded to make her daily stroll down the entrance ramp just as Becky Lynch was heading backstage after celebrating her massive WrestleMania win. Then, as fate and extremely long-term booking would have it, the two superstars came face-to-face at the bottom of the ramp.

After landing a Woman’s Right to Lynch’s jaw, both superstars ended up in an all-out brawl from there. As you would expect, Lynch would eventually walk out on top, but I think we all know who’s still the real winner here.

This was finally it. After all that time, Lacey Evans looks to finally be getting her push.

In NXT, Evans appeared to have great potential on the main roster. She was improving in the ring with each appearance, and her heel gimmick, if executed the right way, seemed primed to deliver some unique and interesting rivalries.

Instead, as we all know, Evans essentially became the next coming of ‘The Drifter’, as she bounced between brands after her main roster debut with nothing in particular waiting for her.

That all ended after her explosive Raw appearance.

Now, with a rivalry against Becky Lynch all but inevitable, we should finally get to see if that untapped potential was worth waiting for. Practically overnight, Evans is going to be in one of the most high-profile feuds in WWE. It’s basically sink or swim from there.

There’s bound to be people who question whether or not that major of a push is right for Evans, especially with so many talented women deserving of a shot at Becky Lynch at the moment.

Naturally, I think that’s always a valid concern when taking someone essentially straight from NXT and sticking them in the main event. The cases of how spectacularly that can back-fire are too obvious to even bother explaining at this point.

That’s without even going into the fact there are easily more than enough superstars capable of holding their own in a great feud with Lynch.

Nevertheless, I can only help but feel like this is the best option for Evans. You can’t saddle someone with such a horrible gimmick, not to mention all that dead air-time each week, and expect them to succeed when your pay-off is a generic mid-card feud.

Unfortunately, the way I see it, WWE has painted themselves in a corner with Evans. It was either the main event, or almost guaranteed disappointment and likely failure.

It’s up to both the company, and most importantly Lacey Evans herself, to make the most out of this situation. Her future as a major player in WWE likely depends on it.
