Let’s take the time to talk about one of the latest signings from All Elite Wrestling (AEW) – a tag team personally handpicked by The Young Bucks called Private Party.

Yesterday, AEW revealed a plethora of different signings. One signing that particularly caught our eye was the signing of the tag team Private Party.

The reason it caught a lot of our eyes so heavily was because a lot of us have no idea who these guys are. No disrespect intended to either party, but neither man has ever worked for a major company before so, naturally, there are questions as to where they came from and who the are.

Most importantly, there are questions arising as to what put The Young Bucks on their radar after Matt Jackson revealed they were handpicked by him and Nick to join AEW.

Given that the Jackson brothers are viewed by many as the best tag team in the world, that just makes Private Party all the more interesting knowing they impressed the Bucks. With more intrigue comes more questions, so I’m not going to waste and more questions and start answering some already.

Let’s start with the basics.

Private Party is comprised of Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy, two young men from New York City. Both men graduated from the House of Glory wrestling school founded by IMPACT alumni, Amazing Red. Their influence under the former X-Division Champion’s tutelage is evident in their high octane, high flying in-ring style, and their in unison and in tandem offense allows them to deliver some of the most unique offense you will ever see.

After seeing Private Party work together, it suddenly makes sense as to why The Young Bucks would be so impressed with their work. Quen and Kassidy’s never-ending airborne offense is reminiscent of a Young Bucks highlight reel.  However, just because they can be compared to the Bucks, don’t think of them as a Bucks copycat team. Their charisma as characters separate them from most teams out there and tend to get the crowd on their feet wherever they go.

Ever since joining forces in 2005, Private Party have spread their wings across the independent circuit’s East Coast. Not surprisingly, their most significant wins came under the House of Glory wrestling promo, where they defeated LAX for the HOG Tag Team Championships. After holding those titles for 252 days, they would lose them to none other than The Hardy Boyz. Private Party have also won tag team gold in Warriors of Wrestling, Pro Wrestling Magic, Game Charger Wrestling and Fight the World Wrestling.

Both in the ring and on the mic, Private Party have mastered the ability to captivate a crowd’s attention and keep the audience invested. That kind of connection with crowds is hard for any wrestler to truly master and to see Private Party do it so well at such a young age makes us more excited to see more from them as they continue to improve over time. If you go into any match of theirs not knowing who they are, you’d be dying to see more from them by time the match is over.

As fun as they’ve been on the indie scene, we expect them to be even better once they settle into AEW.
