3. Jonathan Gresham

Given that he wrestled for so long under WWE as a crazy brawler, it would be easy to forget that Jon Moxley also happens to be a terrific technical wrestler. In his FCW days especially, Mox was likened to a young William Regal. His brawling’s fun to watch and it’s hard not to be enthralled by his hardcore work, but it would be nice to see Mox retturn to the more technical style that so many critics have praised him for.

If he were to do so, the best opponent for him to test his technical skills against would be vs. a man who some may argue is the best technical wrestler currently on the indie scene: Jonathan Gresham. Wrestling at 5’4, Gresham is almost guaranteed to be the smallest man in any fight he gets in. Which is why he opts to systematically break down his opponent – limb by limb, body part by body part – until his opponent gets chopped down to his level.

In many ways, Gresham can be likened to a modern day Dean Malenko. Well, for the record, Dean Malenko and William Regal had more than a couple bangers together in the ring. Surely, Jonathan Gresham and Jon Moxley could have at least one banger together given the parallels.
