Men’s Money in the Bank winner: Drew McIntyre

If I am being completely honest, I do not really want to see Drew McIntyre win the Money in the Bank Ladder Match. That is the most predictable thing to happen and it is obvious that the creative team wants to eventually get him into the main event scene for the WWE Championship.

It is nothing against McIntyre’s character. He can be really effective as a heel champion and certainly would be a better choice than Randy Orton or Baron Corbin. However, he doesn’t necessarily need the briefcase in order to break into the main event scene, whereas someone such as Andrade or Ali could benefit greatly from it.

When considering the direction the WWE is going and who is in the match, it is hard to see the creative team going with anyone other than McIntyre. Unlike Bayley, though, WWE will be patient with his contract and will wait until it absolutely makes sense to book.

Heck, I would not be surprised if McIntyre holds onto the briefcase until after Summerslam, or even on Summerslam. Summerslam typically serves as the culmination of storylines and Seth Rollins’ title run could take him all the way there before McIntyre cashes in after his title match.

Reigns back on Raw is not the answer. dark. Next

WWE can do a great job at getting McIntyre massive heat if they book the cash in effectively. Let’s assume Lars Sullivan is ready by Summerslam for a feud with Rollins. Rollins can get booked over whoever his opposition is at Summerslam, only for Sullivan to come in and annihilate him. Enter McIntyre, who starts his reign as WWE Champion and can feud with a different babyface to build up his run.
