Silver King debuted in November 1985. He began his work as a luchador at Universal Wrestling Association, working from the bottom of the card and slowly moving his way up the card as an in-ring competitor.
In 1987, he put his pride and mask on the line against El Hijo del Santo. After losing that match, he would be forced to turn over his mask and expose his true self. People would learn that the luchador Silver King was one of the sons of Dr. Wagner.
Since he was forced to unmask, he would later find himself in 1990 create a team known as Los Cowboys. The team would dominate in tag team action becoming the inaugural tag team champions of World Wrestling Association. However, they would lose those championships in July 1993 to El Dandy and Corazon de Leon (Chris Jericho). He would participate in battle royals, Junkyard Invitational, and even issue a challenge for the WCW Cruiserweight Championship. In 2001, King would return to CMLL an affiliate of New Japan Wrestling as Black Tiger III. He would continue a quest for championship gold and wrestled for several tours with NJPW. However, he would not be successful in obtaining IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team gold.
He would continue to work with NJPW and be renamed as El Branco and began to display a new mask. At times at other independent promotions, he would still bill himself as Black Tiger III and would officially retire the mask in February 2006.
Silver King would be known for one of the best rolls in a film from 2005: playing Ramses in “Nacho Libre”, starring opposite Jack Black. Black expressed his feelings for the great luchador on Instagram.
