AEW Double or Nothing: Full card preview and match predictions
7. Adam Page vs PAC
This match is in contention for match of the night and possibly match of the year Worldwide. Adam ‘Hangman’ Page has been a rising star for quite some time. His breakout performances in the G1 Climax last Summer were signs that this man is ready to elevate his game one more notch. He is bringing his full gear to AEW’s Double or Nothing this Saturday night. The question is, who will he being squaring off against?
PAC has been on fire since officially leaving the WWE in September of 2018. He has not been pinned in 20 months and is the champion of Dragon Gate. He has had many dream matches in the last 9 months, wrestling Will Ospreay to a time limit draw, defeating El Phantasmo, WALTER and overtaking Zach Sabre Jr. to win the RevPro heavyweight championship.
When Adam Page was announced as a member of the AEW roster, PAC confronted him in ‘full gear’ and challenged him to a match. Page proclaimed he wanted to be the first AEW Champion while PAC told him ‘he couldn’t lace his boots’. The training Hangman has been going through leading up to this bout has been documented on the ‘BTE’ series. Page took it as far to hunt down PAC in Nottingham, England and challenge him to a match right on the spot.
PAC was disqualified for delivering a low blow to the referee and now the match is looking like it’s going to be scrapped at Double or Nothing. After the bell had rung, PAC declared that he wouldn’t be showing up to AEW’s event in Las Vegas after injuring Page after the bell had rung. PAC is looking to drop the Dragon Gate championship before making his initial in ring debut with AEW. Which begs to ask, will Hangman Page have a match on Saturday?
While the injury angle could be a work to scrap the match, Adam Page could show up looking for a fight. I am going to make a big time declaration and predict Jon Moxley will make his AEW debut in stunning fashion. In a back and forth donnybrook, Moxley will win the match, in turn leaving Hangman to recoup and reload for the future.
Winner: Jon Moxley
