WWE: Carmella should win the 24/7 title from R-Truth

Carmella has been a great addition to R-Truth’s current run and it’s time for her to take the WWE 24/7 championship for her own purposes.

The WWE is dead set on providing as much entertainment to go along with the sports component of professional wrestling. One vessel in which said entertainment has been delivered as of late has been through the 24/7 Championship.

While the initial launch of the belt was roasted, one thing has become clear: R-Truth is making this a fun segment that viewers are enjoying. Yet, while this run is hilarious to watch, an intriguing component would be added if it was Carmella who successfully took the title and kept it for an extended “run.”

Hop over to the WWE YouTube channel and you will see a host of videos primed for watching by more than 44 million subscribers. The content ranges from match highlights to interviews and more. But the most popular pieces of content recently have featured both Truth and Carmella as they comically attempt to keep that belt around Truth’s waist.

On Monday, R-Truth was trapped in an elevator with multiple Superstars attempting to win that belt. This video already has more than two million views. R-Truth pinned a sleeping Jinder Mahal while flying to Saudi Arabia last week. That video has more than 8 million views. The video of Mahal pinning Truth on the tarmac before the flight took off? That video also has more than two million views.

When compared to the other videos posted on this channel, content with Truth and Carmella continually dominates those featuring their peers.

The pair of Carmella and Truth were thrown together at a time when the Mixed Match Challenge was a thing and it seemed like WWE Creative had nothing for either wrestler. But both of them turned this moment into gold in a way that has kept them on WWE television more frequently than names such as Rusev, Asuka or Shinsuke Nakamura.

Things are going right for both Truth and Carmella in a way that few expected. This is why it would be an interesting turn of events if Carmella gets the title off of Truth and keeps it for as much time as he has; if not longer.

She’s been the driving force in helping evade everyone that chases him week after week. Her trickery and coaching have kept that belt on Truth; so imagine what she could do if she was looking out for her own title reign. Plus, this would introduce the inclusion the women’s roster as potential threats to anyone holding that 24/7 Championship.

Think of Hall of Famers, Chyna and Jacqueline who have defeated men to hold the Intercontinental and Cruiserweight title respectively. Four women held the Hardcore title in Trish Stratus, Terri Runnels, Molly Holly and an associate of The Godfather all won the belt during that time.

Carmella’s inclusion as a 24/7 Champion could help elevate some of the women on the roster and give many of them who are frequently missing on WWE television some air time. Dana Brooke, Sarah Logan, Liv Morgan, and Kairi Sane would all benefit from the opportunity to get on TV; with the hope of the opportunity leading into something different.

When the WWE Universe was first introduced to Carmella back when she was paired with Enzo and Cass, very few pegged the “Staten Island Princess” as the star of the trio. While Cass and Enzo have been pushed out of the company, Carmella has continued to elevate herself in a way that few other women and men have been able to do in such a short time.

With her aide, R-Truth has become relevant on WWE television and she can easily surprise him to take the title off of his shoulder; adding another reign to such an entertaining and young career.
