AEW Fyter Fest will feature several high-profile matches, but the Fatal Four-Way pitting MJF, Hangman Page, Jimmy Havoc and Jungle Boy against each other could steal the show.

There were a number of wrestlers who stood out at AEW’s first show Double or Nothing in May, but perhaps nobody made more of an impact for their character work alone than MJF.

Diehard wrestling fans are familiar with MJF’s heel antics, but they seemed to reach a new crescendo over Double or Nothing weekend. Just ask wrestling interviewer Chris Van Vliet, whom MJF interrupted to order room service. Yes, room service!

But don’t let that overshadow MJF’s strong performance during the Casino Battle Royale. Only Luchasaurus eliminated more wrestlers than MJF, who sent three men flying over the top rope before being tossed out by eventual winner Hangman Page.

At Fyter Fest on June 29 in Dayton Beach, Florida, MJF must take on Page in a Fatal Four-Way match that will also include Jimmy Havoc and Jungle Boy. Fans should keep a close eye on Havoc and Jungle Boy, as the latter could have a star-making performance and the former is one of wrestling’s best characters.

However, the main focus will likely be on MJF and Hangman Page. The latter’s Casino Battle Royale victory will earn him a title match against wrestling icon Chris Jericho, which will likely occur at All Out on Aug. 31. There, Page will be the favorite to win as an up-and-coming star on his way to become AEW’s first male world champion. Therefore, it’s unlikely he’ll lose at Fyter Fest.

However, don’t count out MJF. This man was born to succeed in multi-man matches due to his intellect and willingness to do anything to win. This is the kind of environment he thrives in, and he could take advantage of Jungle Boy or Havoc in this match; Page doesn’t even have to come anywhere near factoring into the finish of this Fatal Four-Way, which is a fact MJF will surely use to his advantage.

MJF grabbed headlines and turned heads at Double or Nothing. The 23-year-old may have the brightest future of anyone in the company. Though Page was 2018’s breakout star in wrestling, MJF is four years younger than the potential future AEW World Champion and could use the high-profile win.

Though Page needs to be built up for Jericho, AEW could realize that he’s set with his title opportunity, and MJF could get some sweet revenge in this multi-man match after being eliminated by Page and robbed of his title opportunity at Double or Nothing.

Page will be one of AEW’s top babyfaces and has the ability to get the crowd behind him. MJF is the antithesis of Page as a work-smarter-but-not-harder heel who has the ability to get the crowd against him like nobody else. His heel antics even include threatening to sue Fightful.com, who were simply covering MJF’s increased cred after Double or Nothing; fans were putting up MJF signs during SmackDown Live.

Omega vs. Moxley will happen at All Out. dark. Next

AEW will surely capitalize on MJF’s growing star power and few wrestlers can benefit as much from Fyter Fest being streamed free on B/R Live. That could go as far as an upset victory for the former CZW World Heavyweight Champion and fans shouldn’t count out his chances of upsetting Page in Fatal Four-Way competition.
