A wrestling finisher is the most important move in a wrestler’s arsenal and these iconic WWE superstars have finishers that look rather silly in 2019.

You can’t win a wrestling match without a wrestling finisher. Well, you can with a screwy finish, roll-up, or cheap shot, but that is beside the point.

A finisher is the most sacred and useful move in a wrestler’s arsenal and there have been some iconic finishers throughout wrestling history. While they have lost some luster in recent years because of so many near finishes, nothing is better than a Tombstone Piledriver or a Stone Cold Stunner.

Like the industry itself, in-ring wrestling has evolved so much throughout the years and so have finishers. Some are carbon-copies of old finishing moves, like Randy Orton’s RKO and the Diamond Cutter, and some are completely unique, such as AJ Styles’ Phenomenal Forearm.

With that evolution has come crazier finishing moves that have left old finishing moves in the dust. These old-school, iconic finishing moves have now become something that is a normal move in nearly every wrestler’s arsenal.

We are not talking about the downright absurd finishing moves, either. So you won’t see The Stink Face, The Worm or The Mandible Claw on this list.

Instead, we are going to dive into the four most iconic WWE Finishers (not signatures, so you won’t see the People’s Elbow) that would not hold up at all in 2019.

P.S.: There are a lot of finishing moves that deserve to be on this list, but won’t be. We are looking at the four most iconic.
