AEW Fyter Fest: Full card and predictions
The Elite vs The Lucha Bros and Laredo Kid
Now, it is time to talk about your main event of the evening. Kenny Omega teams up with his pals Nick and Matt Jackson to take on Lucha Bros and Laredo Kid. For those not familiar with that last name, he is – like Fenix and Pentagon – is a mainstay of AAA, where he is a former AAA Cruiserweight Champion and currently one-third of the AAA Trios Champions. He is also prominently known for tagging across Mexico with NXT’s Angel Garza.
Laredo Kid is a replacement for PAC. As many of us know by now, there was a situation prior to Double or Nothing where due to Dragon Gate not wanting their top champion to lose matches, PAC pulled out of both Double or Nothing and AEW Fyter Fest. Laredo Kid could use this opportunity to impress and introduce himself to a lot of North Americans less familiar with his work.
Meanwhile, Lucha Bros and The Young Bucks stole the show last month at Double or Nothing when the Bucks retained their AAA World Tag Team Championships. The Lucha Bros would win those titles from them some weeks later at an AAA show. So, for continuity’s sake, both teams are 1-1 against each other this year. This potentially sets up for a tie-breaker and title rematch at All Out, which means neither of these four men should pin each other tonight.
Instead, Kenny Omega should pin Laredo Kid. After losing to Jericho at Double or Nothing last month, Omega needs a win to both keep him strong for Moxley at All Out and maintain his credibility as a top star.
Winner: Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks
