We are mere hours removed from WWE Extreme Rules, hours away from Raw, and on the road to SummerSlam. Brock Lesnar needs a Universal Title challenger.

WWE Extreme Rules offered plenty of shocking moments, but arguably none more shocking than Brock Lesnar cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase on a prone Seth Rollins following a successful title defense in the Pay-Per-View’s main event.

We have a new Universal Champion on the road to SummerSlam. Which reminds me, now that Extreme Rules is in the books, that not only means that we are officially on the road to SummerSlam, but Brock needs himself a challenger to face him at the Biggest Party of the Summer. And with rematch clauses no longer a thing in WWE, we might just get an entirely new challenger. But who could it be? Who will step up to the plate? Who? Who? Whoooo? Whooooo?

There are a few options WWE have as far as guys to put in front of Brock. Here are some.

The Undertaker

Might as well start with a hot take that’s least likely to happen. Although, with WWE these days, you never know what’ll happen over there, especially in the midst of this new, edgy shock value era they’re going for.

The majority consensus from those judging their PPV opener last night was that Undertaker looked like a million bucks and delivered the best performance he’s given in awhile. Apparently, it wasn’t Taker’s fault after all that his match with Goldberg from last month was a dud. We won’t point fingers at who’s fault it could’ve been – *ahem* – but it seems like The Deadman’s still got it.

If WWE recognize that, they may consider putting him in front of Lesnar once again with the title on the line. These two have always had a long, storied rivalry dating all the way back to 2002. Their feud peaked in 2014 when Brock became the one in 21-1 at WrestleMania. They then wrestled at SummerSlam 2014 where Undertaker got his win back – albeit in controversy – before Lesnar rounded out their trilogy with a Hell in a Cell win.

If these two have got more in the tank, they very well could revisit old wounds at the latest SummerSlam.
