The Lucha Brothers (Pentagon Jr. & Rey Fenix) vs. The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson): Ladder Match for the AAA World Tag Team Championship

The Lucha Bros said “Cero Miedo” and the Bucks said something a bit graphic, and the match started. Duel spinning kicks to the Bucks, band Pentagon and Fenix went for a finish right away. The Bucks countered and went for the Meltzer Driver, but the Bros countered. Fenix hit a powerbomb on Matt Jackson and then Pentagon hit a dropkick off the top rope to the crotch to Matt. Ouch.

As the Lucha Bros went for a dive, the Bucks threw a ladder into their face and set it up on the outside. Matt sent Nick into the air, and he hit a dropkick. The Bucks hit a Powerbomb/Enziguri combo before hitting a kick to the face of Fenix and getting on the ladder at ringside. The Bros superkicked them off the ladder and Pentagon hit a springboard onto Nick Jackson.

Fenix then ran and springboarded off the ropes, over the ladder, into a flip dive onto everyone. Wow. Fenix put a ladder into the ring while Pentagon chopped the crap out of Nick Jackson. The Bucks pulled the Bros off the ladder, but Fenix and Nick flew onto the ladder from the ropes. They got pulled off and Matt and Pentagon went up to the top of the ladders. Nick and Fenix hit cutters off the ladder on their respective brothers.

Both Fenix and Nick kicked each other in the face, while Matt and Pentagon hit spears threw the middle ropes and threw the ringside tables onto their respective brothers! Pentagon and Matt got in the ring, and Matt sent Pentagon towards a ladder that was in the corner. Pentagon slid outside of the ring, but Nick ran in and ran up the ladder and springboarded off the top rope with a corkscrew to the outside!

Matt and Nick set up Pentagon for the springboard 450 onto a ladder, but Fenix ended up hitting a hurricanrana off the ropes sending Nick crashing to the mat. Fenix hit a springboard off the ropes and ladder onto Matt, and Pentagon hit a springboard crossbody off the ladder onto Nick. The Lucha Bros brought the tallest ladder into the ring and set it up.

Nick kicked Pentagon off the ladder while Matt Jackson hit Fenix with a gorilla press and then a spear on Pentagon. Matt hit moonsault onto Pentagon on the outside while Matt told Nick to climb. Fenix pushed Nick off the ladder, but Nick landed on the ropes and hit a springboard flip onto Pentagon. Fenix and Nick ended up on the outside while Matt Jackson climbed the ladder. Pentagon cut him off with a slingblade off the ladder!

Pentagon set up the ladder again, but close to the ropes. He chopped Nick Jackson. Nick sent Pentagon to the floor and then hit a tope con giro through the ladder to the floor on Pentagon! Fenix decided to top it by slingshotting himself into the ring, through the ladder, into a Canadian Destroyer on Matt Jackson! Holy crap. Fenix set up a table in the middle of the ring and a ladder in the corner.

Fenix climbed up the ladder, but Matt Jackson came off the table and went to superplex Fenix off the ladder through the table. Pentagon stopped him though and hit a Canadian Destroyer off the ladder through the table! OH MY GOODNESS. Well, that was the most insane spot of the night. Nick Jackson and Fenix setup their respective brothers on tables on the opposite side of the ring. They dared each other to jump, and both men hit splashes off the ladder through the tables.

Fenix set up a ladder on the apron but Nick Jackson flew over it and hit a tornado DDT. Nick set up two tables on the outside, but Fenix hit a superkick on Nick before he could powerbomb him to the outside. Matt Jackson hit a superkick on Fenix, and Pentagon was caught in a sharpshooter by Nick Jackson. Every time Matt tried to climb the ladder Pentagon grabbed his feet. Matt locked on a crossface through the ladder on Pentagon.

Fenix tried to climb up, but Matt pulled him off. Matt went for the Meltzer Driver on Nick. Pentagon kicked Matt in the face, which caused him to tombstone Fenix. Pentagon shoved the ladder over on Nick Jackson, and Nick flew to the floor through a table. Nick almost died as his feet caught on the ropes, but he was okay.

Pentagon and Matt Jackson ended up on the top of the ladder, but Matt Jackson ripped of Pentagon’s mask! Pentagon fell to the mat and then shoved the ladder over. Matt Jackson fell awkwardly right onto the ladder back first. Pentagon then picked him up and they hit the Package Piledriver onto the ladder that was on the apron! The Lucha Brothers climbed the ladder got the titles!

Result: The Lucha Brothers

Rating ***** (5 stars)

This match was utterly insane. It might be the best ladder match I’ve ever seen. After the match, two masked men came down and took out the Lucha Brothers and Fenix and Pentagon! They unmasked, and it was LAX!

Holy crap. This tag division is stacked.
