The second edition of AEW Dark featured a massive main event between Kenny Omega and Joey Janela, and if you think they coasted because it was a dark match, you are wrong. Read on to find out why.

AEW Dark opened with Kenny Omega telling The Young Bucks that he has asked for an unsanctioned lights out match with Joey Janela for tonight. AEW Dark doesn’t seem like just a secondary show with a match like this.

Peter Avalon (w/ Leva Bates) (0-1) vs. Sonny Kiss (1-0) vs. Kip Sabian (1-1)

Avalon was pushed out of the ring and Kiss and Sabian exchanged a few high spots with neither getting the advantage. Both men threw Avalon out of the ring again, and Kiss hit an armdrag on Sabian. Kiss dodged several moves before hitting a jawbreaker on Sabian, but as Kiss dodged another attack, Avalon superkicked Kiss.

Avalon locked on full nelson, but Kiss kicked him. Avalon dumped Kiss to the mat and continued to get the heat on him as he kept Sabian out of the ring. Sabian hit a step-up kick on Kiss and then hit a springboard senton onto Avalon on the floor. Sabian appeared to dislocate his finger on the landing.

The ringside doctor worked over Sabian while Avalon and Kiss battled in the ring. Sabian slowly stood in the corner and hit a springboard dropkick and then hit a pinfall combo on Kiss while hitting a Northern Lights suplex on Avalon. Both kicked out and Avalon managed to take out both men.

Leva Bates tried to hit Sonny Kiss with a book but missed. I believe this was a botch. Sabian managed to pick up Avalon and hit Deathly Hallows for the pinfall victory.

Result: Kip Sabian (2-1)

Rating: **1/4 (2.25 stars)

Kip Sabian is an exceptionally talented wrestler, and he got a must needed win here on AEW Dark.
