Last night, Keith Lee and Dominik Dijakovic waged war once again on the USA Network. This meeting had higher ramifcations than their previous encounters. Due to Velveteen Dream being injured, NXT comissioner William Regal made the bout a number one contenders match for the NXT North American Championship.
Any contest between Keith Lee and Dominik Dijakovic is a candidate to be in the running for match of the year. This match between these two behemoths over-delivered in the best way possible, as usual. Add a shot at Roderick Strong’s NXT North American Championship and you’re bound to watch these two guys up their game. Lee and Dijakovic did just that.
After Keith Lee uncorked a poisonrana, something that should be deemed illegal for a 335 pound man to do, the exciting match was brought to an abrupt halt when Roderick Strong hit the ring and attacked both men with his North American title belt before hightailing it out of the ring.
As he made his way up the ramp, William Regal called down from the rafters and ordered Strong to stop right there. He immediately booked a triple threat for the NXT North American Title for the following week on the USA Network between Strong, Lee and Dijakovic.

The thought of these three men battling for the North American Title next week is mind boggling. We have seen what both Lee and Dijakovic are capable of when going head to head, but if you add Roderick Strong – one of the best technicians in the world – to this bout, then we are going to see a meltdown by the NXT Full Sail crowd next week. The question is, who will and should come out on top?
The answers are identical, Roderick Strong should emerge victorious.
So far, Strong has only held the NXT North American Championship for one month. He defeated Velveteen Dream in the debut episode of NXT on USA to win the title. There needs to be some continuity with the championships in the NXT promotion.
This year alone, the North American title has changed hands three times. Which, for a year we’re 10 months deep into, that’s not too bad, but Strong’s run has only just begun. That and The Undisputed Era finally achieved their goal of claiming every championship in NXT. That ship has not run it’s course just yet. The U.E. is just getting started in establishing their dominance in NXT and this should continue a little while longer.
Do not get me wrong, both Keith Lee and Dominik Dijakovic are both worthy enough to win the NXT North American Championship. I believe both men could easily hold the NXT Championship in the future.
I feel that they still have a score to settle with each other first. This could be a key component to look for in this match. They will likely soften each other up and Roderick Strong will lay back in the weeds. Patiently waiting for the opportune time to take advantage.
All three men in this match are going to put on a show. I will go as far as to say it will be the bout of the night next week on USA. We will all be the beneficiaries of a phenomenal wrestling match. The wild card in this scenario is the remaining members of The Undisputed Era.
They likely will interfere in this title match. The thought of a championship not being held by one of them is what unites the group. They will pull out all of the stops in this one and in turn, it should put a strength hold on this triple threat to ensure Roderick Strong remains the NXT North American champion.
