WWE fans react to Finn Balor finally turning heel
WWE fans fondly remember how Finn Balor changed NJPW forever as a heel and the first leader of the Bullet Club, so they’ve been begging for a character change. Now, they have finally received their wish.
When Finn Balor appeared on WWE NXT to make a splash in the first night of the Wednesday Night Wars, wrestling fans rejoiced. Balor helped make the NXT brand what it is today as the longest-reigning NXT Champion, showing strong babyface character work as “The Demon” and putting on even better matches with the likes of Samoa Joe and Kevin Owens.
Balor and NXT were made for each other. And now, it looks like Balor’s second run with the Black and Gold brand will be even better than the first.
That’s because on the Oct. 23 episode of NXT, Balor turned heel, attacking lovable on-and-off babyface Johnny Gargano to begin a feud that could be an all-timer in NXT.
Gargano is one of the best in-ring performers WWE has ever known, tearing the house down at TakeOver after TakeOver in an unprecedented run of form in the big matches. And Finn? He’s itching to show wrestling fans how damn good he is in the ring now that he’s even more experienced. Balor has always been a good wrestler, and a feud with Gargano can bring out the best in him.
Better yet, a heel Balor can bring out the best in a character that was getting stale on the main roster, just as the performer himself was getting burned out by the grueling schedule.
WWE fans are hyped about this turn and program, because they know something else special is brewing in NXT with this story.
So THAT past is back?
The goosebumps on my arm are also Real.
It’s like you never left, Prince.

If he is, the Undisputed Era better watch out, because I doubt Balor will give them much quarter in due time either.
Thank you, Triple H, for listening to the Batista inside all of us and giving us what we want.
Put that on the WWE “Best of” lists, right?
Honestly, it’s insane to think that it’s taken this long for WWE to try out Finn Balor as a heel, but NXT really is a second lease on life. And you know what? Better late than never.
We’re all #here for what’s to come.
