AEW Dynamite: Results, Highlights, and Grades for October 23, 2019

This week of AEW Dynamite featured the semi-finals of the AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament and a huge match with PAC vs. Moxley.

AEW Dynamite opened with Private Party and the Lucha Brothers in the ring.

Private Party (Marq Quen & Isiah Kassidy) (2-3) vs. The Lucha Brothers (Rey Fenix & Pentagon Jr.) (4-2) – Semi-Final Match in the AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament

Quen and Fenix started the match with Quen and Fenix exchanging some fast and high flying action. Quen got the first advantage, but ate a kick from Pentagon that knocked him into a German suplex on Quen. Pentagon tagged in and Fenix chopped Quen. The Lucha Brothers launched Quen into the air, but he hit dropkick and tagged out to Kassidy.

Kassidy hit a hurricanrana on Pentagon, but Fenix came in and hit a kick on each man. Rey Fenix went for a kick on Kassidy, but he ducked, and Private Party hit a series of high impact movies before Quen tagged in. Quen hit a springboard flip to the outside on Fenix to a roar from the crowd. Kassidy hit an enziguri on Pentagon and then Private Party hit Silly String on Pentagon Jr.

Quen hit a 450 splash on Pentagon, but he kicked out. Pentagon said “Cero Miedo” and Fenix hit a hook kick on Quen and then a double springboard foot stomp on Quen before Fenix sent Pentagon into the air and he hit a double stomp on Quen too. The Lucha Bros put Kassidy on Quen’s shoulders and then Fenix dropkicked Kassidy and he fell backwards taking his own partner over into a reverse hurricanrana!

Fenix hit a springboard moonsault to the floor on Kassidy while Pentagon hit the Pentadriver for a 2 count. Quen got pulled off the top turnbuckle by Fenix, but he landed on Pentagon and hit a hurricanrana. Fenix tried to hit a hurricanrana on Quen, but Quen cartwheeled out and tagged in Kassidy who ran wild taking everyone out. Kassidy hit a Asai moonsault to the floor and hit the Jager Bomb on Fenix for a 2 count.

Fenix hit a hook kick on Quen, but Kassidy was able to hit a stunner and a corkscrew planca on Pentagon. Quen hit the top rope and hit a shooting star press on Fenix for a 2 count. Fenix hit a fireman’s carry on Kassidy and then a Gory Bomb/Leg drop combo on Private Party. Pentagon hit the slingblade on Quen and then a powerbomb on his knee on Kassidy.

Pentagon went for the package piledriver on Quen, but Quen fought out and then they hit Gin and Juice and Fenix, but Pentagon Jr. is the legal man. They went for it on Pentagon, but he countered into a Canadian Destroyer on Kassidy! Fenix ran across the top rope and kicked Quen right in the face! Pentagon hit the arm breaker on Quen, picked up for the Package Piledriver and Fenix flew off with a double stomp. Fenxi flew outside the ring to take out Kassidy, and Pentagon pinned Quen!

Result: The Lucha Brothers (5-2)

Holy crap, this match was amazing. I don’t really know how else to describe it. I’m speechless.
