Jimmy Havoc (1-3) vs. Jack Evans (2-3) vs. Darby Allin (2-3-1) – Falls Count Anywhere

Evans started the match with a springboard moonsault elbow on both men, then a series of kicks on Havoc. Evans hit a handspring back elbow on Havoc but ate an uppercut from Havoc in the corner. Havoc hit a Death Valley Driver on Evans, but Allin went right after him. Allin was moving so fast that Havoc (and I) couldn’t keep up, but he hit a Code Red for a 2 count.

Evans broke it up and got a crucifix on Allin for a 2 count. Havoc hit a rolling elbow on Allin, but Allin wasn’t stopped for long as he hit his flipping stunner on Havoc and then a tope on Evans. As Allin went for a tope on Havoc, Havoc hit Allin with a chair and then suplexed him on the floor for a 2 count. Havoc hit Evans with a chair and threw him into the crowd.

Allin put Havoc in a chair and ran at him, but Havoc hit a back-body drop on Allin that sent him over he guardrail into Evans. Havoc then climbed on the guardrail and flipped onto both men. Evans hit Havoc with a big boot, but Darby Allin grabbed a box and smashed Jack Evans with it. Havoc sent Allin crashing into the barricade by the stage and got a 2 count.

Evans went after Havoc and hit a suplex on the stage and then floated up, which was a good spot. Evans tried to hit a moonsault on Havoc, but after a series of reversals Havoc was finally able to hit a reverse suplex on Evans for a 2 count. Jimmy Havoc ran across the stage and hit a Cactus Jack elbow on Allin. Both men stood up and Evans flipped off the stage onto both men for a 2 count.

Evans grabbed two chairs and threw them into the ring. Evans grabbed two more and threw them in the ring. Evans went for a springboard corkscrew leg lariat, but Havoc punched him in the mouth. Darby Allin tried to suplex Havoc to the floor, but Havoc fought it off and suplexed Darby into the ring. Havoc put Evans in the tree of woe with Evans’ head resting on a chair.

Havoc hit a Death Valley Driver on Allin into Evans. Allin kicked out. Evans was hanging on the ropes and Havoc went up after him. Allin grabbed Havoc in a Burning Hammer position, but Evans flew off the top rope with a double stomp onto Havoc. Allin then tried to pin Havoc, but Havoc kicked out. Allin locked an armbar on Evans and captured the other arm as Evans reached for the ropes.

Havoc hit Allin with a chair to break it up and then hit the Tiger Driver 98 for a 2 count that Evans broke up. Havoc threw a chair at Evans and he dropped. Havoc then locked two chairs together on their side and tried to hit a Death Valley Driver onto the chairs, but Evans fought out and hit a back breaker onto them! As Havoc was left on the chairs, Evans hit a 450 splash onto the chairs and crushed Havoc.

Havoc kicked out. Allin grabbed a table and slid it into the ring, but Evans hit a kick that sent Allin back to the floor. Evans balanced the table in the corner between the middle ropes and put Havoc on the table. Evans went to the top rope, but Havoc cut him off and hit a piledriver through the table! Darby Allin climbed the top ropes and hit the Coffin Drop with a chair onto both men and he pinned Jack Evans for the win!

Result: Darby Allin (3-3-1)

Rating: **** (4 stars)

This was an excellent match. AEW has something really special in Darby Allin. Jimmy Havoc offered Darby Allin a fist bump, and Allin accepted. I’d like to see them as a tag team. Allin and Havoc could totally tear it up in the AEW tag division.

Show rating: *** (3 stars)

This was a really fun episode of AEW Dark. I hope AEW shows a bit more of the promos from this show on Dynamite, especially the MJF one and the Kip Sabian one. The did show some highlights from the show on the last episode of AEW Dynamite, so hopefully that continues.

One minor criticism I have of AEW Dark so far is that the crowd audio isn’t loud enough. This isn’t a problem on AEW Dynamite, but it’s clear that in postproduction when they add commentary (as it isn’t all done live) they have the mixing a bit off. If AEW can sort out the audio problems, it would make Dark seem much more exciting as we can actually hear the crowd react.

I can see that AEW fans being excited, but it doesn’t sound the best in the final cut of the episode. The easiest way to sort that is to do commentary live to tape instead of having it done in post. All in all, still a fun episode of AEW Dark.
