AEW Dynamite: Results, Highlights and Grades for Nov. 6
Jamie Hayter and Emi Sakura vs. Riho and Shanna
Sakura and Riho start out with a lock up. Sakura tosses her aside with the strength advantage. A few wrestling reversals and transitions until Sakura plays dirty with a hair pull, followed by chops and a hair assisted snapmare. Sakura rakes Riho’s face with her boot. Sakura jaw jacks with the ref about it, allowing Hayter to run in and attack Riho.
Sakura takes advantage, but Riho fights out to hot tag to Shanna, who comes in on Sakura like a house of fire. She tags Riho back in for a flurry of double team moves for a two count on Sakura.
Riho goes for a suplex, but Sakura claws at Riho’s back. Riho gets back in this with a 619 attempt, but Sakura blocks it with a double underhook backbreaker before tagging Jamie Hayter. Hayter hits a series of suplexes on Riho before stomping out Riho’s face. Then drives her face into the turnbuckle before tagging Sakura back in. Sakura nails a dropkick before locking in a bow and arrow submission.
She tags Hayter back in, who immediately locks in a Camel Clutch, wrenching at her mouth, then giving her a wet willy (which is wild haha) before locking in the dreaded, painful, unforgivable rest hold sleeper. She keeps it in for about two or three minutes. That’s right, it’s chin lock city, baby! Until Riho finally gets to the ropes, of course.
Sakura comes back in, but Riho takes her and Hayter out before hot tagging Shanna, who makes a huge babyface comeback.
She runs at Hayter, but Hayter catches her with a chokeslam backbreaker. Sakura makes the tag and hits her own, Queen inspired comeback. She attempts a Vader Bomb, but Shanna gets the knees up. Shanna attempts a hot tag, but Hayter sweeps Riho’s legs.
Chop exchange before Shanna hits a big hurricanrana before hitting a crossbody on both Sakura and Hayter outside.
Back in the ring, Shanna hits Sliced Bread #2 then a double underhook DDT type manuever for a near fall. Then a full nelson, but Sakura has the strength to break free and hit a Cross Rhodes. She tags Hayter back in and her and Sakura double team Shanna for a two count.
Hayter reverses a suplex attempt then hits two lariats back to back. Pin attempt, but Riho returns to break it up. Hayter tosses Riho out the ring. Sakura back in to hit a tiger driver, then a Vader Bomb, but Riho cuts it off with a double foot stomp.
Riho gets the tag and her and Sakura go at it. Reversal after reversal before Sakura gets a surprise pinfall on the champ.
Winners: Sakura/Hayter
Grade: A
Very fun tag team match. This match really exceeded expectations. Awesome stuff from bell to bell.and a great showcase for both Shanna (one of their latest signees) and Hayter (not signed, by arrived as part of AEW’s unofficial partnership with Stardom). Also good match to add fuel to Saturday’s Women’s Championship match between Sakura and Riho.
Brandi Rhodes spooky promo hyping up Awesome Kong and how they are going to destroy this women’s division. Interesting stuff.
