In the first Dynamite episode after Sunday’s Full Gear, AEW Champion Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara challenge for the Tag Team Championship. Meanwhile, in a rematch from the PPV, PAC takes on Hangman Page in a rubber match.

Following a recap of what went down at the Pay-Per-View, AEW Dynamite opens up with Kenny Omega (alongside friends Michael Nakazawa and Riho) getting evaluated by a medic over his scars and injuries sustained from his chaotic main event against Jon Moxley. In between the evaluation, we get clips of last Sunday’s main event. The medic advises Omega to rest up for a week, but he should be good to go next week. Omega asks how Mox is doing, and is told Mox is injury free, which seems to bum out Omega even more.

Speaking of, that immediately gets followed by a match between Jon Moxley and Michael Nakazawa.

No fun and games from Nakazawa, clearly miffed at Moxley beating up his friend. He charges at Mox, forearms to the neck before getting clobbered by a clothesline. Then, Mox gives some forearms of his own in the corner. Nakazawa kicks him away and goes for a clothesline, but Moxley ducks and hits a Dirty Deeds for the easy win.

Winner: Jon Moxley

Grade: N/A

Like I’ve said in past recaps, it feels weird to grade a squash match because it feels weird to grade a match that was never meant to be a great match. It’s a great squash match, which sounds like an odd oxymoron of sorts, but this match did everything it set out to do (i.e. make Moxley look like the baddest man on the planet in quick fashion). One of those things just wasn’t to be a legit match, and that’s okay.

“So that one counts, right?” Mox asks on the mic. He says he’s a lot of things, but he’s not a liar. He promised what he set out to do at Full Gear and delivered. “Kenny Omega will never be the same again.” He calls Omega a “radical son of a b****” who he respects. He says Omega had the balls to do what no man could do: step up to Jon Moxley. Now, Mox promises to scorch the earth of AEW until he’s the last man standing.

He makes a challenge to anyone in the back to prove him wrong and step up to him.

Dark Order vs. Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy and Marko Stunt)

Jungle Boy carries Marko Stunt to the ring on his back, all while Stunt is wearing a Luchasaurus mask. I just thought that was super cute and had to mention it.

Anyway, Stunt and Evil Uno start and Stunt courageously charges at the big man, but to no avail.

Stu Grayson tags in to take on Jungle Boy, and the boy flips around with a bunch of flippy moves including a hurricanrana. Marko back in, and he overpowers Stu with a hurricanrana. Jungle Boy back in and they tag team to do an assisted senton for a nearfall. Boy tags back to Stunt, who comes in to floss and hit a double stomp to Grayson’s arm.

Evil Uno distracts Stunt, which allows Stu to take advantage with a roll-up (simultanously tagging Uno). Stunt gets back up to walk into a Big Boot from Uno, then gets hit with a Swanton for a two count. Tag back to Stu, but Uno hits a backbreaker before leaving the ring. Meanwhile, Grayson hits a tope senton off the apron.

Stunt struggles to make it to his tag partner as Dark Order isolate him in their corner. Uno tags back in.

Stunt punches away at Uno, but the big man chops him down before tagging Stu back in right before our commercial break. During which Grayson hits a long, long, long, LONG stalling suplex for a two count. During this whole commercial break, the heels get the heat on the tiny Stunt.

Back from the break, Stunt attempts a comeback on Uno by hitting a big ole pop-up DDT. Stunt nearly tags his man, but Grayson takes Jungle Boy off the apron, but Jungle Boy wipes out Grayson with a forearm. Stunt tags Jungle Boy to a huge ovation. Jungle Boy gets a huge comeback spot.

Tag back to Stunt. They attempt a tag team move, but Uno stops them and tags Stu, who jumps off the top rope, but gets caught with a double mid-air superkick. Then a tag move attempt from Jurassic. Stunt slips chest first onto the rope, but recovers to hit a top rope hurricanrana. They nearly win, but Uno pushes Jungle Boy onto Stunt. After the heels get their heat back, Stu Grayson hits the Knightfall Backbreaker before tagging back to Uno. They hit their tag finish to (you guessed it) finish the match.

Winners: The Dark Order

Grade: B

Jurassic Express made for fun babyfaces in peril while Dark Order continue to grow on me as monster (albeit ridiculously silly in the best way possible).

Uno grabs the microphone to beg the fans to “give it up for Marko!” He says Marko has potential, but Dark Order could help him reach his full potential if he joins them. Stunt reaches for the mask

Uno says he respects that, but orders his Creepers and Stu Grayson to put them down, and they do just that. They try to force the mask onto Jungle Boy’s face, but Luchasaurus makes his triumphant return from injury to lay out every Creeper in sight.

He enters the ring and stares down Uno, but he snaps his fingers to sick the Creepers on him. Luchasaurus wipes out three Creepers with one spinning kick, then tosses one over the ring. Uno clears out, but Grayson dukes it out with Luchasaurus. Chokeslam to Grayson, followed by a moonsault.

With the ring cleared, all three Jurassic Express members hug in the middle of the ring.

Grade: A

That post-match segment was awesome. If AEW really have plans to go all in on a big push for Luchasaurus, I’m all in (no pun intended). Dude does a fun monster run-in and could have a fun monster run in him if given the ball. Also, very interested at the prospect of Dark Order attempting to recruit members.
