After years of struggling to push Baron Corbin as a main eventer, WWE TLC 2019 may have been his crowning moment after a win vs. Roman Reigns.

Long before WWE TLC 2019 went on the air, it would be an understatement to say that WWE have constantly struggled for years to push Baron Corbin into the main event picture.

He’s had his fair share of accolades, having won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal and the United States Championship, but for some reason, it was always a tough sell for fans to buy into Corbin as a main event caliber Superstar.

WWE seemed to have finally struck gold last year when he shaved his head and became a Constable. Suddenly, he looked like a star and settled into his villanious authority figure role nicely. Yet, still, for some reason, something just was not clicking with fans.

Then, his rechristening as King Corbin seemed like a step backwards, even only because his new segments riddled with mascots and dog food seemed to do more to deter fans from his presence than draw them in. If anything, critics and fans reacted to these angles as go away heat, if nothing else.

But now, in the wake of WWE TLC 2019, WWE may have finally made Corbin as a main eventer work.

It was at WWE TLC 2019 did what few thought he was capable of by beating Roman Reigns on Pay-Per-View in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match. There were shenanigans galore, of course, but hey, a win’s a win. And a believable one at that.

Say what you will about his character or his on air personality, but Corbin can go in the ring. And tonight, when the lights were on bright in WWE’s final PPV of the year (and decade), Corbin truly took it to the Big Dog with brute force.

Both men clobbered each other in a surprisingly entertaining and physical bout, but as the spotlight shined on him, Corbin shined in a way where a World Championship now wouldn’t look so out of place around his waist.

There’s no telling where Corbin’s career goes from here, but after that performance, I’d have no problem with him being a staple of the main event scene for years to come.

Finally, after all this time, Corbin is a bonafide star who cannot be denied.
