2. Bray Wyatt debuts The Fiend
If you enter 2020 not knowing what “Yowie Wowie” is, then it’s your own fault. Bray Wyatt’s alter ego The Fiend is without a doubt the best reinvention of a wrestler this year.
While Bray Wyatt and the former Wyatt family were great, the arrival of The Fiend was a game changer for Wyatt. After feuding with “Woken” Matt Hardy, Bray Wyatt needed a reset. He needed to either return with the family, or go it alone.
This wasn’t going to happen. The only thing left to do was reinvent and Bray did it well. Bray took took his time introducing us to him, grooming fans with snapshots of The Fiend during the Firefly Funhouse episodes and talking about him. At first, you’re thinking, is he going to be a very well built Mr. Rogers? Then you realize the children’s show is just a cover for a built up rage that will haunt your dreams.
Currently the Universal Champion on SmackDown, The Fiend is terrorizing the WWE. Between the red lighting, the terrifying mask, the awkward walking, the lamp, and the laugh, he’s a walking horror movie. Bray Wyatt made every clown step their game up in 2019.
I heard if you say his name three time during WWE Raw, he appears and takes out the person you despise the most on the roster. I’m kidding, of course.
