1. “The Man” Becky Lynch wins it all at WrestleMania 35
In 2018, we saw the evolution of Becky Lynch becoming “The Man”. In 2019, The Man came around and collected both Womens Titles at WrestleMania 35.
Don’t get me wrong, this was great for womens wrestling. It was the match at WrestleMania. This was also great for Becky Lynch, the wrestler. I’ve watched Becky for years come up short time after time, and I tired of it. I didn’t think it was fair. I wasn’t alone. Everyone began to express their distaste for how Becky was being treated.
Onscreen, she soon began to buy into those feelings, leading to a character transformation that helped her become more than we ever imagined. She did what wrestlers are supposed to do: Create.
She evolved to level of wrestling that put her in the championship conversation with the likes of Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. Becky will always be “The Man”. Her work has always resonated to the underdog or to the phrase, “bridesmaid but never a bride.” Now with the Kill Bill stripes down her outfit, she is “The Bride” and has come for revenge. Her performance this year will have Hall of Fame talk all over it when she’s done.
