When asked who he wants to tango with at WWE WrestleMania, Rey Mysterio provided a phenomenal answer by name dropping AJ Styles.

Recently, WWE United States Champion Rey Mysterio was interviewed by Gary Cassidy over at Sportskeeda. Among the many questions Cassidy asked the WWE Superstar, among them considered one regarding who the Leader of the 619 would like to face at an upcoming WrestleMania event.

Without hesitation, the US Champ was quick to name drop someone who he has been facing off against a lot recently. If he had his say in the matter, Rey Mysterio would like to face AJ Styles at WrestleMania.

“The roster is filled with top talent,” Mysterio started off in the aforementioned interview, “but I really think that the match we had leading into me becoming United States Champion against AJ Styles – I would love to do that on a big stage. AJ vs Rey Mysterio.”

2019 has seen the two former WWE World Champions go toe to toe a handful of times more recently. Most notably, Mysterio wrestled Styles during a Chicago edition of Monday Night Raw a few weeks ago and went on to dethrone the Phenomenal One of his United States Championship in the same night. That proved to be one of the better, most electric matches WWE has delivered this year.

Then, Mysterio was able to retain his title in a rematch (albeit, with some assistance from Randy Orton) in last week’s episode of Raw.

Every time these two have squared off, they have provided some awe inspiring chemistry. Prior to Styles ever even arriving to the WWE, many fans and critics hailed AJ Styles vs. Rey Mysterio as a desired dream match. Even though we have seen this match a couple times now already, nothing would amplify that chemistry quite like putting it on a Mania stage.
