Tony Schiavone is out to interview Jericho. Jericho states he was right and Jungle Boy couldn’t beat him. Schiavone calls Jericho out but Y2J threatens the former WCW announcer.

Jericho then grabs the mic and turns his promo towards Jon Moxley. Jericho tries to bribe Moxley with “incentives” and “surprises” if he joins The Inner Circle. Jericho wishes Moxley a Merry Christmas to end his tirade.

Jen Decker interviews SCU backstage. The Lucha Bros interrupt the promo and show Christopher Daniels his botch from last week on a cell phone. Daniels leaves in an embarrassed state.

Next up is the number one contenders match for the AEW Women’s Championship.

Britt Baker (4-2) vs Kris Statlander (2-0)

The two lock up as Statlander cartwheels out of the exchange. Statlander boops Baker’s nose and continues to outwrestle Baker but finally gets caught in a Lockjaw attempt. The two continue to grapple and Baker hits a rough looking suplex and a neckbreaker.

A commerical breaks comes out of nowhere and cuts off JR.

Back from break the two opponents trade attacks in the corner. Baker goes for another attempt at the Lockjaw but Statlander escapes and hits a running knee on the apron. Statlander goes off the top rope with a nice looking dropkick. Baker attempts to roll up Statlander but to no avail. Baker hits a slingblade but gets caught with a lariat. Baker hits an insane superplex but Statlander powers out and hits her twisting elevated piledriver.

The two trade strikes until Baker hits a twisting fisherman buster as the two trade strikes and Baker attempts a third Lockjaw, Statlander powers out of the Lockjaw attempt and hits her signature piledrive for the win.

Result: Kris Statlander (3-0)

Rating: ** 3/4 (2 & 3/4 stars)

Schiavone attempts to interview Statlander but Brandi Rhodes comes out. Brandi congratulates Statlander on the win and asks her if she is with The Nightmare Collective or not. Statlander wags her finger no and gets nailed by Brandi with her high heel.

A match that didn’t live up to the hype. Baker’s lack of chemistry with Statlander was painfully evident in this contest, but hopefully both women are able to bounce back from this rough outing.

Shawn Spears and Tully Blanchard are shown backstage in a promo where Spears talks up the AEW tag division and Tully promises he will find his client a tag partner soon.
