AEW Dynamite: Results, Highlights, and Grades for Dec 18th, 2019

S.C.U (TC) (6-2) vs The Young Bucks (5-3)

Nick Jackson and Frankie Kazarian start off but both tag out quick. The two teams run wild and counter a plethora of moves until The Bucks gain the upper hand. The Bucks isolated Kaz and hit him with several combo maneuvers. Scorpio hits a wild hurricanrana off the apron to the floor.

SCU isolate Matt but he is able to tag in Nick who hits a parade of kicks and a running bulldog. Nick hits a massive hurricanrana from the top rope. Scorpio gets saved by Frankie but SCU eat a twisting dive from Nick for his trouble.

Back from break The Bucks and SCU are down as Nick and Frankie get the hot tags. The Bucks eat a double lariat from Kazarian and then a tope from Sky. SCU hit their assisted swinging DDT for a close nearfall as SCU continue to work over Matt, who comes alive and hits a massive spear.

Nick tags in and gets planted with a cutter counter from Sky. SCU lock in stereo Dragon Sleepers until Matt throws his opponents into one another. Matt and Frankie exchange strikes but Sky tags in and knocks Nick off the apron. SCU hit a suplex on Matt and hit their patented swinging DDT off the apron to the floor.

A SCU Later ends the match almost out of nowhere as SCU pin the weakened Matt Jackson.

Result: SCU (7-2)

Rating: **** (3 & 3/4 stars)

The Dark Order’s creepers suddenly surround the ring as The Dark Order enter the arena. Evil Uno has a mic and congratulates SCU on their win and threatens The Bucks. The Creepers rush the ring along with JOHN SILVER AND ALEX REYNOLDS.

The Creepers overwhelmed everyone but out comes Kenny Omega, who quickly gets swallowed up as well. CODY AND DUSTIN run out but also gets overwhelmed. The Dark Order look unstoppable as they beat down on SCU and The Elite. Hangman has not come out to help his Elite brothers. The Dark order throw everyone out of the ring except The Bucks. Silver and Reynolds tale up Dark Order masks and the entire unit pose over the fallen Young Bucks.

A solid tag match that had an abrupt finish that seemed a little out of place. All signs were pointing towards a Young Bucks victory but SCU has had a fine reign and ending it this soon would be a shame.

The ending segment was great and helped rejuvenate a very stale Dark Order while also finally giving The Beaver Boys a direction.

A solid episode of Dynamite that lived up to most of the fans expectations while also falling short in some areas but in the end it was a great way to end this years run of Dynamites.
