AEW officially signed Kris Statlander earlier this month, but she’s already scheduled to get an AEW Women’s Championship match in a matter of weeks.

Kris Statlander established herself as the next breakout star in professional wrestling on Beyond Wrestling’s weekly show, and she’s already become one of the fastest-rising stars in all of AEW.

On her first night as an officially signed member of the AEW Women’s Division, Statlander defeated Hikaru Shida. One week later on the Dec. 11 episode of Dynamite, she beat Bea Priestley.

And on this Wednesday’s episode, Statlander picked up her biggest win yet, defeating Britt Baker in a No. 1 Contendership match for the AEW Women’s Championship.

The finish to the match was excellent and wrapped up a win for Statlander in a match she dominated, as the announcers constantly put over her strength.

In a matter of three appearances, Statlander is already scheduled to face Riho for the title on the Jan. 1 episode of Dynamite. It’s unlikely she already wins the title, but given that she’s riding a three-game winning streak and is undefeated in singles competition now that she’s officially on the roster, AEW has already strapped the rocket on her.

After defeating Baker, Statlander was approached by Brandi Rhodes to join the “Nightmare Collective” with Rhodes, Awesome Kong, and Melanie Cruise. Statlander unsurprisingly rejected and was met by a vicious eye poke with a high heel from Brandi. AEW wrestler Sadie Gibbs got a little bit of screen time, as she helped Statlander out.

Next. The Women's Tag Titles still need a credibility boost. dark

Statlander vs. Riho should be an amazing match in Jacksonville on Jan. 1, and wrestling fans won’t want to miss that AEW Women’s Title bout. These are two of the best wrestlers in the company, and the massive push Statlander has received since signing with the company has made her a hot topic of discussion among wrestling fans.

There’s no doubt that Statlander can take the wrestling world by storm in 2020, and it’s only a matter of time before she holds the AEW Women’s Title. But will she win it less than a month after joining the division? That remains to be seen, especially since Riho has also been a rising star in the company since being one of the first women signed to the roster.
